My name is Risa. I'm 23 years old and live in Boca Raton, Florida. I have battled with my weight since I was about 6 years old, and for the last couple years, I was finally winning the fight. But I slipped, gaining back 36lbs from my lowest weight in ages. Now I'm buckling down again to shed the weight so I can look on the outside the way I feel on the inside. But the road isn't always straight and smooth. For more information on my life-long weight loss journey, please view my first post here. This blog exists for me, to keep me on track and motivated. If you don't like personal posts or personal opinions, you took the wrong fork at Albuquerque!

I don’t watch the show, but I do find many of the transformations inspiring. These are before and afters from the latest season (Season 12) of Biggest Loser. The top pic is the guy who won the show, losing 220lbs from his start weight of 445lbs. What you should take away from this:

1. Transformations this dramatic are entirely possible. Never believe that you can’t do it because if they can, you can.

2. You should not expect your transformation to happen as rapidly as it did for these people. These folks left the “real world” for weeks, some for months, to focus solely on getting healthy. No work, no school, no housekeeping, nothing. Just weight loss/fitness. So just because your transformation isn’t happening as fast as it did for these folks doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong or that it won’t happen. You just aren’t on a game show spending 100% of your waking time on fitness. And that’s perfectly okay. Keep going. You’ll get there.
