My name is Risa. I'm 23 years old and live in Boca Raton, Florida. I have battled with my weight since I was about 6 years old, and for the last couple years, I was finally winning the fight. But I slipped, gaining back 36lbs from my lowest weight in ages. Now I'm buckling down again to shed the weight so I can look on the outside the way I feel on the inside. But the road isn't always straight and smooth. For more information on my life-long weight loss journey, please view my first post here. This blog exists for me, to keep me on track and motivated. Happy Chanukah!

Er, not quite. But this December 8, 2012, through December 16, 2012, will be the first Chanukah that Mitch and I spend together. We decided to start a tradition: a different theme gift every night!

So here are the theme nights, each with a little explanation:

  1. Fashion: The first night can be any gift of fashion, including clothing or accessories.
  2. Sweets: A tasty, sweet food for the second night!
  3. Thinker: Mitch and I both love the smart-making stuffs, so the third night needs to be a gift to provoke thought, like logic puzzles or brain teasers.
  4. Find: On the fourth night, we’re going to hide each other’s gifts and play “hot or cold” to find ‘em!
  5. Favorite: For the fifth night, a gift that emphasizes a favorite that either of us has. (For example, he’s a David Bowie fanatic.)
  6. Cinema: We’re both film buffs, so the sixth night must be something related to film.
  7. Self-Made: This seventh night one should be pretty self explanatory.
  8. Eclectic: The eighth night can be anything. All genres are fair game!

I’m so excited. I’m gonna start Chanukah shopping tonight.
